As part of his estate settlement, Malcolm Gardner expressed in his Last Will and Testament a desire to recognize his mother's love for the Church of God. Malcolm directed a significant donation to the Church of God Foundation be made in honor of his mother, Mary (Daglian) Gardner.
Joyce Seccia, Malcolm's niece, described her grandmother Mary as a humble, but influential Christian woman. "She had serious heart problems but lived strong because of her faith and work for the church," said Joyce.
In fact, Mary Gardner was listed in the in the 1919 Yearbook of the Church of God, as "a saint qualified to give spiritual instruction, pray for healing of the sick, and to teach the doctrine of the New Testament church."
"Malcolm wanted to honor his mother's commitment to the Church of God in a lasting way," said Joyce.
Now, Mary's legacy of love for the church will continue through the Church of God Foundation. Malcolm's bequest will support the Foundation's scholarship fund to help Church of God students attend Church of God institutions of higher education.
